Welcome to Rabbits Class
Welcome back to the Autumn Term. This term our topic is 'Superheroes!'
The children will be learning all about different fictional heroes as well as real life heroes and people who save us and others.
In science Year 1 will be investigating different materials and looking at their properties, which will help us design our own Superhero outfit! Our Reception children will be learning all about the parts of the body and how these work to help us learn play and learn.
In art we will be looking at work from Andy Warhol and pop-art! The children will get to create their own superhero pop-art.
In history we will be looking at how the RSPCA was set up and how it has helped and changed over the years. We will also be researching David Attenborough and Jane Goodall.
In geography we will be focusing on Norfolk and look at maps of Norfolk, locating physical and human features. In addition to our topic we will also complete a variety of different learning activities during our themed week of “Turkey.'

We have PE every Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure that your child's PE kit is kept in school so that they have access to their PE kit at all times.
Please also ensure that your child has spare clothing in their bags in case of any toilet accidents. These should be kept in school.
Please ensure earrings are removed on these days and that your child's hair is tied back.
We do cooking on a Tuesday. Please ensure that your child has a labelled container in school each Monday so that they can take home their delicious treats.
Maths homework should now be competed on line using Maths Whizz. It is important that your child completes at least one hour of Maths Whizz per week. We will receive a report each week of how much time your child has spent on their homework. If you have any problems with homework then please speak to Mrs Stevens and Mrs Bailey as soon as possible.
Spellings- Your child will receive a spelling grid with all the words they need to learn throughout the year. They will be assessed each half term and a new spelling grid will be sent home, highlighting the words they can successfully spell. please continue to practice spellings throughout the year.
We will listen to your child read at least twice a week but we ask that children are heard reading at home THREE times a week and that their reading diary is signed for each time they read. For every three reads your child will receive one sticker on their bookmark. Once their bookmark is full they will be able to choose a book of their choice to keep!
