Autumn Term 2015

In Woodpeckers Class, our topic for the Autumn term, is “Sunflower House”.

The children will be learning all about sunflowers and how plants grow. We will be investigating the best methods to help a seed to germinate and thrive and will hopefully manage to grow lots of lovely plants. We will be learning all about the life-cycle of plants too and the processes involved in helping them to grow back each year. We are hoping to make lots of scrumptious treats this term, using sunflower seeds and sunflower oil to help us.

The children will explore the world of Vincent van Gogh and Georgia O'Keefe and will be re-creating lots of lovely art work. We are looking forward to heading out on a trip to the Sainsbury's Centre for Visual Arts soon to explore a variety of exciting art exhibitions, in addition to spending time with some experts who will teach us all about Van Gogh.

In addition to our topic we will also complete a variety of different learning activities during our themed weeks of “Australia” and “~Maths Money Challenge”.
