Road Safety Training
Our Year 1 and Reception classes have been doing their annual Road Safety Training this week. They have been wearing high visibility vests so that they can understand the importance of being seen by all road users. Don’t forget to wear your own high visibility vest to school.
The children have been detectives and have been learning how to recognise vehicle actions by looking at lights and mirrors and listening. Outside the school gate they have seen the purpose of barriers and road markings. Walking along the pavements the children walked safely with their adults away from curbs and looking out for dangers such as driveways. Finally all of the children learned how to cross a road safely and in the best location, remembering their Green Cross Code.
Thank you to the Road Safety team and volunteer helpers who made this a valuable experience.
