We will receive a report each week of how much time your child has spent on their homework. The top three children, who make the most progress will receive a sticker and the child who receives the most progress will earn a certificate and medal. If you have any problems with homework then please speak to Miss Anderson as soon as possible.

Big Writing given on a Thursday will help your child with their Big Write work on Friday. Please encourage your child to oral rehearse what they have learnt.

Spellings- Your child will receive a spelling grid with all the words they need to learn throughout the year. They will be assessed each half term and a new spelling grid will be sent home, highlighting the words they can successfully spell. please continue to practice spellings throughout the year.

We will listen to your child read at least twice a week but we ask that children are heard reading at home THREE times a week and that their reading diary is signed for each time they read. This will help your child to receive their reading sticker and gain a prize! Please ensure that if your child uses Reading Eggs that you also write this in their reading diary. Again, we will receive a report of how much access children have to Reading Eggs so please contact Miss Anderson if you have any concerns.
