Welcome to Foxes Class!
In Foxes Class, our topic for the Spring term, is “Land Ahoy."
The children will be learning all about Pirates and Ships! We will be learning about historic Pirates, look at different types of Pirate ships and what it takes to be a Pirate! We will travel with Pirate Pete around the United Kingdom learning all about England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales and look at the importance and history of lighthouses, ready to design and make our own.
We will be going on a trip to The Sainsbury Centre!
In addition to our topic we will also complete a variety of different learning activities during our themed week of “Canada"
Please look on our class page later in the term for photos of our work. They will be uploaded on DB along with a weekly blog.
Each Thursday your child will receive literacy and maths homework in addition to their spellings to learn. This is sent home on a Thursday and expected back in school by the following Tuesday. If you have any queries in regards to the homework please don't hesitate to speak to Miss Anderson.
Spellings will be given out weekly and a spelling test will be held each Tuesday.
We will listen to your child read at least twice a week in school, but we ask that children are heard reading at home at least THREE times a week and that their reading diary is signed for each time they read. This will help your child to receive their reading sticker and gain a prize!
We have PE every MONDAY and WEDNESDAY . Please ensure that your child's PE kit is kept in school so that they have access to their PE kit at all times.
Please also ensure that your child has spare clothing in their bags in case of any toilet accidents. These should be kept in school.
We do cooking on a Tuesday. Please ensure that your child has a labelled container in school each Monday so that they can take home their delicious treats.
