Welcome to Foxes Class!

In Foxes Class, our topic for the Summer term, is “The Big Top Circus!"
The children will be learning all about the circus! Our first week back we will have a circus workshop in school, ran by professional circus entertainers! The children will be introduced to the topic and learn lots of exciting circus skills.smiley

In history we will be learning about Philip Astley, learning about the history of the circus and how it has changed over the years. We will be making our very own circus in DT and in art we will be drawing clown self portraits! In science we will be learning all about animals and the human body. We will be studying food chains and exploring how to keep ourselves healthy and fit.

In addition to our topic we will also complete a variety of different learning activities during our themed week of “St Lucia”.

Please look on our class page later in the term for photos of our work.

Homework:

On Thursday your child will receive homework and spellings.
Maths homework should now be competed on line using Maths Whizz. It is important that your child completes at least one hour of Maths Whizz per week. We will receive a report each week of how much time your child has spent on their homework. If you have any problems with homework then please speak to Miss Anderson as soon as possible.

Spellings will be given out weekly and a spelling test will be held each Monday/Tuesday. Please ensure spelling books are handed in Monday ready to receive your new spellings.

We will listen to your child read at least twice a week but we ask that children are heard reading at home THREE times a week and that their reading diary is signed for each time they read. This will help your child to receive their reading sticker and gain a prize! Please ensure that if your child uses Reading Eggs that you also write this in their reading diary. Again, we will receive a report of how much access children have to Reading Eggs so please contact Miss Anderson if you have any concerns.

PE

We have PE every Monday and Wednesday . Please ensure that your child's PE kit is kept in school so that they have access to their PE kit at all times.

Please also ensure that your chid has spare clothing in their bags in case of any toilet accidents. These should be kept in school.

Cooking:

We do cooking on a Tuesday. Please ensure that your child has a labelled container in school each Monday so that they can take home their delicious treats.
